Every set of books you keepends the same way.A sale, a succession,or a closed door.

You'll know before anyone else. You'll see it in the way they talk about next year. And when they finally say it out loud, they'll say it to you.

That moment is worth something. To them, and to you.

We've been on your client's side of the table. Our partners built and ran a company doing nearly $10 million a year. We know what a serious business is worth — because we operated one.

Why Partner With Covenant

Your client gets handled right.

A certified valuation from an independent appraiser. A confidential process. A partner on the phone, not a coordinator. You referred them; we make you look good for it.

You're paid at closing.

A written referral fee out of our net commission, wired when the deal funds. No clawbacks, no conditions buried in a footnote, no chasing us for it.

The relationship stays yours.

We're brokers. We don't do books, taxes, payroll, or advisory, and we don't bring in anyone who does. When the sale closes, your client has the biggest tax year of their life — and you're still their accountant.

And it runs both ways. Buyers land in El Paso needing an accountant. We'd rather send them to a partner than a search result.

How You're Paid

A real fee, in writing, before you ever send us a name.

When you introduce a client and that business sells through Covenant, you're paid a referral fee — a fixed percentage of our net commission, paid at closing.

The percentage isn't a mystery and it isn't negotiable case by case. It's a set number, written into the agreement, the same for every partner we sign.

We don't post it on a website. A number like that deserves a table, a handshake, and a document you can read line by line before you sign anything. Come see us and we'll put it in front of you.

  • Signed agreement before your first introduction — not after
  • Paid at closing, out of our commission. Your client never pays more because you referred them.
  • You choose what you send us. There's no quota and no exclusivity.

How It Works

Five steps. Most of them are ours.

  1. We meet.

Coffee at our office or a call, whichever you prefer. You ask hard questions. We answer them.

  2. We sign.

A short, plain-English referral agreement. Fee terms, confidentiality, and how you're paid. Two pages, not twenty.

  3. You make the introduction.

An email or a phone call. That's the whole ask. From there we take it.

  4. We go to work.

Certified valuation from an independent NACVA-credentialed appraiser. Listing prepared to be SBA-ready, with 7(a) financing available up to $5 million so financed buyers can compete. Vetted buyers only. Staff and customers never know.

  5. It closes. You're paid.

Your fee is paid at closing. Your client has a payday and a very interesting tax year. You're still their accountant.

You'll hear from us throughout. Not a portal — a phone call.

Where Our Lane Ends

We're brokers. That's all we are.

  • We don't do bookkeeping, tax prep, payroll, or advisory — and we won't start.

  • We won't introduce your client to a replacement for you.

  • We won't market to your client list, ever.

  • We won't put your name in front of anyone without your say-so.

  • We take a limited number of listings at a time — on purpose. Your client gets a partner, not a case number.

  • If a sale isn't right for your client, we'll tell them so, and we'll tell you.

The Question Every CPA Asks

“Am I allowed to take a referral fee?”

You're right to ask it first. Most accounting professionals can accept a referral fee from a third party — the standard condition is that the client is told about it in writing, in advance.

So we build that in. Our agreement includes disclosure language you can adapt and give to your client before any introduction is made. Nothing is hidden from anyone.

Your obligations are yours to weigh, and rules vary by license, state board, and firm — including for attest clients. We're not going to tell you what your rules are. We'll just make it easy to satisfy them, and we'll never ask you to do something you'd have to explain later.

Covenant does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. Please confirm your obligations with your own governing body or counsel.

Real businesses. Really sold.

A track record built the right way — one successful closing at a time.

“Selling a retail clothing business comes with unique challenges: finding someone who understands the brand, the inventory, and the customer base. Yazir took the time to really understand what I’d built with my clothing store and found a buyer who appreciated the vision. The process was confidential, professional, and he kept me informed every step of the way. I’m grateful for how smoothly everything went.”

Questions, Answered

What accountants ask us first.

Most accounting professionals can accept a referral fee from a third party, provided the client is told about it in writing, in advance. Our agreement includes disclosure language you can adapt for your client. Rules vary by license, state board, and firm, so confirm your obligations with your own governing body or counsel.

A fixed percentage of our net commission, paid at closing, the same for every partner we sign. The number is written into the agreement, and we put the agreement in front of you at the first meeting — before you ever send us a name.

No. Your fee comes out of our commission, not out of your client's proceeds. The referral changes nothing about their deal.

No. We don't do bookkeeping, tax, payroll, or advisory, and we don't introduce replacement providers. When the sale closes, your client is still your client.

Profitable businesses of every size, across bars and nightlife, restaurants and food, retail, salons and spas, and entertainment venues. If it's a healthy going concern with provable cash flow, we want to see it.

We commission a certified valuation from an independent NACVA-credentialed appraiser for every listing — the same caliber of report banks, buyers, the IRS, and courts rely on. Covenant is not the appraiser. The number is independent, and it's defensible.

Completely. We market discreetly to vetted buyers under NDA — staff, customers, and competitors never know. And your name never goes in front of anyone without your say-so.

Then nothing happens until they are. There's no clock and no obligation in the agreement. Some of the best sales start as a quiet conversation two years before the listing.

No. There's no quota, no minimum, and no exclusivity. You choose what you send us — if anything.

Yes. We're headquartered in El Paso and represent businesses across all of Texas. We'll simply start with a confidential call instead of coffee.
